The inaugural “Culinary Corner Pub Crawl” is planned as fun way to highlight the great West Hartford restaurants in the corner of Blue Back Square and support an organization that assists state residents who are food insecure.

Eat IN Connecticut, a West Hartford-based social media and PR company that focuses on the state’s food and beverage scene, organized the crawl that includes five of the area’s top bars and taverns, all of which are located in one corner of Blue Back Square. A portion of each ticket will benefit End Hunger Connecticut!

The Culinary Corner Pub Crawl will be held from noon-5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20.

“Due to popular demand, the Culinary Corner Pub Crawl on Jan. 2o in West Hartford will now be an open format event where Pub Crawl participants can go to any of the participating Culinary Corner restaurants … at anytime that day between the hours of noon and 5 p.m.,” said Eat IN Connecticut founder Jeannette Dardenne, one of the organizers of the event. Drinks will be half price for all participants and there will also be food specials at each location.

Participating restaurants/pubs are: Vinted (63 Memorial Rd.), INDIA (right across the street at 54 Memorial Rd), The Cook and The Bear (right next door at 50 Memorial Rd.), Flora (just up the street at 45 Raymond Rd.), and across the street at the Tavern of Artisan Restaurant at the Delamar West Hartford hotel.

Crawlers must check in at the host stand to receive an official Pub Crawl bracelet and map, which will allow them to receive the food and drink specials. Those who visit and get maps stamped at all five locations can enter the map into a drawing to receive a prize. Ten winners will be chosen at random at 5:30 p.m. that day, Dardenne said.

“The Culinary Corner Pub Crawl is a fun way to highlight the incredible restaurants that make up the back corner of Blue Back Square where Raymond Road and Memorial Road intersect,” Dardenne said. “It’s in our group’s DNA to organize events that not only bring people together over food and drink, but which also help to raise funds for organizations dedicated to ending hunger. We love working with End Hunger Connecticut! and have supported them in the past through other fundraising events, so this was a natural extension to something we are already so passionate about.”

Eat IN Connecticut recently raised approximately $10,000 for End Hunger Connecticut! through the successful 86’D Culinary Competition.

Tickets to the Culinary Corner Pub Crawl can be purchased through Brown Paper Tickets for $12 through Jan. 12 when prices will increase to $15. Tickets may also be purchased at the door for cash only.
