Mark your calendar for the 30th running of the Celebrate! West Hartford Road Races on Sunday, June 11, 2017.
West Hartford will host both a 5K and a Kids’ Fun Run. Prizes are awarded for first, second, and third place in all divisions of the 5K. Age divisions are 10& under, 11-14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40- 49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+. There will also be a random drawing for all other 5K participants (must be present at awards ceremony).
Registration opens at 8 a.m. and people are encouraged to arrive with plenty of time before their race. The Kids’ Fun Run will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K at 9:30 a.m.
The 5K is an accurately measured flat USATF certified course that begins at 50 Raymond Rd. The Kids’ Fun Run begins in Blue Back Square. Both races end on Burr Street.
The 2017 registration and post-race celebration location will take place in the Town Hall parking lot this year.
“We are very excited to return the registration and post-race celebration to the festival dining tent in the Town Hall lot,” said Celebrate! Event Director, Linda Geisler. “We are grateful to Whole Foods Market for continuing to provide the re-fueling buffet after the race. We also appreciate Fleet Feet and other supporters who contribute to our outstanding array of awards. Racers often tell me they are some of the best prizes around.”
Road Race proceeds benefit the West Hartford Leisure Services Scholarship Fund, which subsidizes summer camps, swimming lessons, and other year-round recreational programs for needy children.
Race Committee Chair, Mike Alquist encourages runners to, “Start your Sunday off right and help support West Hartford Leisure Services Scholarship Fund. Grab your sneakers and your family and join your West Hartford neighbors for a fun, healthy run around through the Webster Hill neighborhood.”

Pre-race registration and package pick-up will be at Fleet Feet Sports, 1003 Farmington Ave., West Hartford Center, on Friday, June 9, from 3-6 p.m. and Saturday, June 10, from 9 a.m.-noon. Runners may pick up race shirt, bib tag and race number and new registrations will also be accepted. Cash or check only will be accepted.
Race-day registration and packet pick-up will be in the West Hartford Town Hall parking lot, 50 South Main St., beginning at 8 a.m.
Free race-day parking is available in Isham Garage, 17 Isham Rd., West Hartford.
Online registration is available for this year’s event at www.celebratewesthartford.com. Registration for the 5K is $25 until June 1, and fees increase to $30 after that date. The Kids’ Fun Run is $5.
