West Hartford resident Tracy Weed, writing as Grace Hartwell, releases her second historical romance on July 1st. A former president and current active member of the CT chapter of Romance Writers of America (CTRWA), she released her first book in 2020, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the second in the series.
All That I Want, book two of the Hesitant Husbands series, will be available prior to release at the Farmington Barnes & Noble Romance Writers signing event June 29, 2024, from noon-6 p.m.
Barnes & Noble has partnered with CTRWA to offer several signings around the state, including an author talk at the Enfield location on July 27, 6-8 p.m., and Glastonbury on Aug. 17, noon-3 p.m. Readers can meet their favorite authors, or discover a new one, and writers in the community will benefit from connecting with other local authors.
As an indie author, Weed admits she has to work extra hard to get her name out there. “I’ve wanted to be an author all of my life, and I credit Romance Writers of America for helping me make that happen. My local chapter has been very supportive and offers terrific programming for writers of all genres, not just romance. Indie authors don’t get the same kind of exposure as traditionally published authors do, though we are no less worthy of that attention! I am absolutely thrilled that Barnes & Noble reached out to us and is giving us the time to celebrate our local indie authors and all the genres of romance they write!”
Weed is a lifelong resident of Connecticut, and began her publishing career after her husband’s death and the subsequent pandemic two months later threatened to permanently crush her spirit. She took the leap in October of 2020 and has been steadily working to build a career as a romance writer. The learning curve has been steep, but the friendships and support she’s found through CTRWA has helped her climb that mountain. She proudly served as president from 22-24, and now serves as the VP of Programming for the chapter. She is also the author of the novella A Countess For Christmas and has appeared in three anthologies.
