Voting Open for 8th Annual Best of West Hartford

The community is invited to cast their votes for their favorite businesses or individuals in a variety of categories.

By Ronni Newton

From now until Oct. 17, the community will have the ability to choose their favorite West Hartford business – or in some case person, or association – in more than 50 categories, in the 8th annual Best of West Hartford contest.

“I’m excited about the new categories and businesses that are participating in this year’s Best of West Hartford contest, and excited that the celebration will be in person,” said Tom Hickey of 2020Media, event organizer.

The contest is being announced as of Oct. 1, but if you’re reading this article you are able to access the link and cast your vote. Voting ends on Monday, Oct. 17, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.

“The Best of West Hartford Committee has been hard at work planning the categories for this, the eighth year,” Hickey said. Specific COVID-related categories and businesses are no longer part of this year’s contest, but some new categories that have been requested by readers have been added, he said. They include:
  • BEST Real Estate Agent – Commercial
  • BEST Physician
  • BEST Dentist
  • BEST Medical Walk-In Clinic
  • BEST Physical Therapist

The awards presentation will be held on Monday, Nov. 7, 2022, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Mandell JCC’s new Innovation Room.

“As you may know, the JCC has been upgraded to protect against future pandemics. It’s the safest place the BOWH Committee could find to hold the event live,” Hickey said.

Mayor Shari Cantor will open the evening with a greeting at 5:30 p.m., followed by a special WEHA-HA comedy show and then closing with Dennis House of WTNH-8 announcing some special winners.

Hickey called the event “the biggest business-to-business networking event of the year,” and said past celebrations have sold out. Watch for details to purchase tickets.

Event partners with 2020Media include We-Ha.com, West Hartford LIFE, West Hartford Press, Jewish Ledger, West Hartford Magazine and the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce.
