West Hartford Art League to Host Inaugural ‘Fine Art Festival’

The West Hartford Art League’s first ever ‘Fine Art Festival’ will be held Sept. 25-26, 2021 on the grounds of the facility on Buena Vista Road.

Thirty artists will be participating in the first open-air “Fine Arts Festival” on the grounds of the West Hartford Art League at 37 Buena Vista Road.

The festival, which the West Hartford Art League plans on making an annual event, will be take place from 10-5 p.m. on both Saturday, Sept. 25 and Sunday, Sept. 26.

Work by artists in a variety of mediums – including painting, pottery, printmaking, and ceramics – will have tents set up on the parklike grounds. Admission is free and open to all.

Food trucks will also be available both days. Saturday will feature the Paul and Vinnie’s food truck (owned by Carbone’s) serving chicken parm, Caesar salads, Philly cheesesteaks, and more, from noon.-5 p.m. Lobster Tails will be onsite Sunday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., with juicy lobster rolls, lobster grilled cheese and “a couple of fried sides for the kid at heart.”

The Whimsically Tipsy truck will be there both days from noon-4 p.m. serving craft beer and wine from their vintage VW Bus Bar.

Other highlights, according to West Hartford Art League Executive Director Roxanne Stachelek, will give children a chance to paint each day from noon-3 p.m.  in the “Kids Corner.” Live music will include performances by Bill Benson on Saturday from noon-3 p.m. and “I am Violet Dusk” on Sunday from noon-4 p.m.

The parking lot at the West Hartford Art League will be closed to vehicles during the festival, but attendees can park on Buena Vista Road or in the lot at Solomon Schechter Day School across the street.
