West Hartford Center shoppers and diners will have the opportunity to also become “givers” and receive special discounts while supporting Foodshare beginning Thursday, Nov. 10, with the launch of the 2016 “WE CARE” Card program.
For many years the West Hartford Center Business Association offered the Kids Card program during the holidays, and raised funds for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. This year the decision was made to support Foodshare – recognizing that hunger is a very real problem facing residents of West Hartford and throughout the Greater Hartford area.
Sales of the WE [WEst Hartford Center] CARE Card by businesses in West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square will directly benefit Bloomfield-based Foodshare. “About 40 participating businesses will be selling the WE CARE Card for $50 per card, and for 10 days you will receive special offers,” said West Hartford Center Business Association President Barbara Karsky. WE CARE Card holders will receive a 20 percent discount from most merchants, but it will vary by business. Specific discount information will be available on We-Ha.com next week.
“What a perfect time of the year to benefit Foodshare as we get ready for Thanksgiving,” said Blue Back Square Marketing Director Elizabeth Zigmont.
The WE CARE Card will be available for use beginning Nov. 10, and discounts will be available through Nov. 20, 2016. A limited number of cards will be available. Check back with We-Ha.com for updates on participating merchants.
