The West Hartford Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce their 33rd Annual Golf Tournament, presented by Ideanomics Fintech Village. The event will be held on Monday, Sept. 16 at Wampanoag Country Club.

This year, a portion of the proceeds raised from the tournament will benefit The Town That Cares Fund.

West Hartford Mayor Shari Cantor had this to say regarding the news of the tournament’s beneficiary: “The Town That Cares is funded 100 percent by contributions from the community and is used to help our residents who are in crisis. Being the beneficiary of the Chamber’s annual golf tournament will allow us to help our neighbors with food and to pay utility bills, shelter costs, medical expenses, and other critical needs. We are truly grateful for this much-needed donation.”

The West Hartford Chamber of Commerce represents more than 550 businesses and organizations in West Hartford and the surrounding area. The Annual Golf Tournament is one of the Chamber’s “signature” events, drawing between 150 and 200 golfers and dinner attendees.

“We are excited to be returning to Wampanoag Country Club, one of the most beautiful and challenging courses in the region,” said Christopher Conway, executive director of the West Hartford Chamber.

The Chamber’s other signature events include the Mayor’s State of the Town Address, The West Hartford Economic Development Update, and The Chamber Spotlight Awards & Annual Meeting. The Annual Golf Tournament is the Chamber’s largest event of the year.

The price per golfer is $240. The day includes pre-golf lunch followed by an 11 a.m. shotgun start for 18 holes of golf.  The day ends with dinner, award presentations, and raffles and auction. Greens and cart fees are all included.

Stressing the importance of the work of The Town That Cares, Community Partnership Manager Suzanne Oslander said, “We are very grateful to the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce for selecting The Town That Cares to receive part of the proceeds from their upcoming golf tournament. Last year, over 1,000 West Hartford households benefitted from The Town That Cares.  The fund provides relief to residents during a crisis situation when alternative resources are unavailable.  ssistance may include help with groceries, utility bills, shelter, medical expenses, clothing and other needs, as well as seasonal support. The support and generosity of the community makes it possible to help our neighbors in need.”

In addition to Ideanomics Fintech Village, more than two dozen other local businesses are supporting the tournament by way of sponsorship. They include Platinum Sponsors Westfarms, ESC (Environmental Systems Corporation), Westfield Bank, and Corbins Corner, as well as Gold Sponsors Blue Back Square, Peoples United Bank, Bartlett Brainard Products, Simsbury Bank, and Duncaster.

Additional information regarding golf participation and sponsorship opportunities is available by contacting the Chamber at [email protected], calling 860-521-2300, or by visiting their website.
