Mayor Shari Cantor declared March to be “Nutrition Month” in West Hartford. As part of that awareness, the Universalist Church of West Hartford was recently recognized as contributing to the health and well-being of all those in our West Hartford community.

Church programs include Foodshare Mobile Truck Delivery, Community Breakfasts, Weekend Food Backpacks, Food Pantry, Weekly Donation Pickups and “Have a Heart” Sandwiches.

Foodshare CEO Jason Jakubowski and Community Network Builder Jim Palma recently met with Katherine Wilson, a West Hartford resident and member of the Universalist Church’s food ministry programs, to accept a proclamation from Mayor Shari Cantor to recognizing the food ministry programs of the Universalist Church of West Hartford.

The Universalist Church of West Hartford is always looking for volunteers and support for its food ministry programs. To get involved, you can learn more at WestHartfordUU.org.
