West Hartford Firefighters Local 1241 has a long history of supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and will hold two charitable events over the next several weeks to benefit MDA.

“The first one is the Fill The Boot for the MDA event happening at the intersection of New Britain Avenue and Ridgewood Road,” said Edward Dombroskas of the West Hartford Firefighters Association’s MDA Committee.

Fill The Boot will be taking place on Aug. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  “Come join the fun and donate to a worthy cause,” said Dombroskas.

Also returning this August is the West Hartford Firefighters Association Beer Tasting. The annual event, now in its 12th year, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 1 to 5 p.m. The location is 45 South Main Street – right across from Town Hall – with free parking available in the Town Hall parking lot.

Donations of $25 are requested, and free samples of beer will be available for those 21 and older, with valid ID. There will be live music, and food available for purchase.
