On Monday, Sept. 20, the West Hartford Girls Basketball League (WHGBL) opened registration for all its divisions.  Registration will close on Oct. 18 or sooner if all roster positions have been filled. Registrations are provided on a first come, first served basis.

The WHGBL was established to promote the fundamentals of basketball through commitment, teamwork, sportsmanship, fair play, hard work, and fun. This is done through an environment that is safe, positive, and enjoyable for all who participate.

The goal is to foster self-esteem in each player regardless of talent level, to have fun and to create in each player the desire to be the best that she can be. Eligible players must either reside in West Hartford or attend West Hartford public or private schools.

The West Hartford Girls Basketball League is composed of three divisions, the Minors Division (3rd and 4th graders), the Juniors Division (5th and 6th graders) and the Seniors Division (7th and 8th graders).  The season runs from November 2021 through March 2022.

Those interested should register at the league’s website, www.whgirlsbasketball.com as soon as possible.
