Summer officially begins on Monday, June 20, but because school in West Hartford ended earlier than usual this year, the summer swim season will get an early start.

All four outdoor pools – located at Kennedy, Fernridge, Eisenhower, and Beachland parks, will be open daily for public swimming beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 18.

The pools will be open for recreational swimming on Saturdays and Sundays, through Aug. 21, from 1 – 6 p.m. On weekdays, all four pools will be open for public swimming from 1 – 4:30 p.m. and in the evenings from 6 – 8 p.m. For the final two weeks the pools are open in August, the evening hours will be from 5 – 7 p.m.

Spray pads, intended for children ages 2 – 8, opened for the season on May 28 and will remain open daily from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. through Sept. 5.

Information about admission costs can be found by clicking here. Discount admission books are available at Town Hall and from pool cashiers (beginning June 18). There is no charge for use of the spray pads.

Swim team practice begins June 20, as do swimming lessons for children (ages 5 and up) and the lap swim program for ages 14 through adult. Check the website for details on registration, costs, and hours for each pool.
