West Hartford Police Assist in Apprehending Suspects Who Fled on I-84

Two suspects who fled on foot after veering their vehicle off I-84 in West Hartford have been apprehended.

Two suspects in a vehicle being pursued by Hartford Police and Connecticut State Police on I-84 westbound were apprehended Friday afternoon with the assistance of West Hartford officers after the occupants drove off the shoulder of the highway at Exit 43 and fled on foot.

According to police, the vehicle pursuit, which was taking place at approximately 3:15 p.m., ended after the suspect veered off at the Exit 43 ramp.

West Hartford Police assisted Hartford Police in continuing to search for the suspects. Residents reported a heavy police presence in the Park Road area of West Hartford.

The two suspects were apprehended without injury Friday afternoon, police said. Reports that the suspects were caught on Vincent Street in West Hartford are being verified.

According to Fox61, the incident initially began with a call to police related to a firearm.

Hartford Police are continuing the investigation of the incident.
