West Hartford Police Investigating Assault on Oakwood Avenue

A woman was assaulted Saturday night near the intersection of Oakwood Avenue and Seymour Avenue in West Hartford.

West Hartford Police are currently investigating an incident that occurred Saturday evening involving the assault of a woman on the sidewalk near the intersection of Oakwood Avenue and Seymour Avenue.

Lt. Michael Perruccio said that a female victim reported that she had been dropped off and right after her friend left the area, a light-skinned Hispanic male got out of a light-colored car and assaulted her.

According to Perruccio, after hitting the woman, the suspect got back into the car and drove away.

The incident was reported at 8:50 p.m.

The assailant did not steal any money or property from the victim, Perruccio said. The victim was able to provide police with information about the vehicle’s license plate.

The investigation remains open and active, and police ask that anyone who has information or may have witnessed the incident call Off. Davis at 860-523-5203.
