West Hartford Police are searching for an armed suspect who reportedly threatened an employee of a local package store before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money Wednesday night.

According to Capt. Daniel Moffo, an employee of the Fairlawn Package Store at 101 Park Road reported the armed robbery to police at approximately 8:55 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25.

Police were told that the suspect, who is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s with average height and build, displayed a black handgun and threatened the victim.

According to police, the victim was not injured during the incident.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black jacket and black ski mask, police said, and is believed to have fled in a gold-colored sedan which may have a damaged rear window on the passenger side.

Police established a perimeter when they responded to the scene, but the suspect likely had already left the area, they said.

The investigation into the incident remains active and ongoing, and police ask that anyone with information contact them through the tip line at 860-570-8969 or by email at [email protected].
