West Hartford Police Seeking Suspect Who Stole Item from Jewelry Store in Center

A suspect tried on a watch at Lux Bond and Green in West Hartford Center Wednesday evening, and then ran from the store with it, police said.

West Hartford Police are searching for a male suspect who stole a watch from Lux Bond and Green’s store at 46 LaSalle Rd. Wednesday night.
According to Lt. Daniel Moffo, police responded to Lux Bond and Green at 5:41 p.m. on a report that a man had asked a sales associate to try on a watch and immediately after being handed the item, ran from the store with the watch and headed south on LaSalle Road.
Police believe that the suspect had an accomplice, another man who held the door as the man with the stolen watch fled the store.
The suspect who took the watch is described by police as a white male, approximately 25-30 years old. He was wearing a baseball hat, dark sweatshirt, and a red shirt. He was also wearing glasses and had a “thin-style beard,” police said.
Police describe the accomplice as a white male between 20 and 30 years old. He was wearing a winter hat and a dark sweatshirt, and police said he also had a thin-style beard.
Officers immediately established a perimeter and brought in a West Hartford Police K-9 team, but the track was not successful and no suspects were located.
Police emphasized that the suspect did not use physical force during the theft, and did not make any threats.
The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact West Hartford Police at 860-523-5203.
