West Hartford Police: Suspect in Robbery Should be Considered ‘Armed and Dangerous’

West Hartford Police have obtained a warrant for Luis Rodriguez, wanted for the robbery of the Sam’s Food Store on New Britain Avenue.

West Hartford Police have released the name of the suspect wanted in connection with the armed robbery of Sam’s Food Store at 1149 New Britain Ave. on Aug. 6, and said he should be considered “armed and dangerous.”

Police have obtained a warrant for Luis Rodriguez, 44, and said that he is approximately 5 feet 7 inches, and 175 pounds.

Police said that a male suspect entered the Sam’s Food Store at 9:33 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, and reached over the counter with one hand to grab cash from the register drawer while holding what appeared to be a black pistol in the other hand. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Rodriguez should contact police immediately at 860-523-5203, and should not approach him directly. All tips will remain confidential, police said.
