In partnership with Connecticut Veterans Affairs Commissioner Ron Welch and Major General Francis Evon of the Connecticut National Guard, Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz will host a ceremony to recognize all living World War II veterans, having served at any time from Dec. 7, 1941, to Dec. 31, 1946.

The ceremony will take place on Monday, May 19, 2025, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Governor William A. O’Neill State Armory, 360 Broad Street, Hartford, CT 06105.

The ceremony has been scheduled in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, which ended in September 1945. It is important to thank these members of the Greatest Generation for their service and sacrifice.

If you know of a WWII vet who would like to attend, please contact Keren Paquette at 860-561-7573 or [email protected] or Renée McCue at 860-561-7521 or [email protected]. Please provide name, phone and address of the veteran. The Town of West Hartford will provide transportation.
