West Hartford Voters: Absentee Ballots Now Available for August 11 Primary

Absentee ballot applications as well as the ballots for the Aug. 11, 2026 Democratic Primary are now available.

Absentee Ballots are now available from the West Hartford Town Clerk’s Office for the Democratic Primary that will be held on Aug. 11, 2026 for Governor and the 1st Congressional District. To obtain a ballot, you must submit an application.

You may request a ballot using one of the following methods:

  1. Apply for an absentee ballot online through this link
  2. You may request an absentee ballot in person by visiting the Town Clerk’s Office between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at 50 South Main Street, Room 313.
  3. You may print a completed application, then mail or deliver it to the Town Clerk’s Office. Obtain the application here:  https://portal.ct.gov/SOTS/Election-Services/Voter-Information/Absentee-Voting

Please note: Each Application requesting an Absentee Ballot requires an original signature of the registered voter. You may not sign on behalf of any other voter.

For your convenience, Election Drop Boxes are located outside the main entrance to Town Hall and the Faxon Branch Library. To expedite the delivery, please use the Election Drop Boxes for applications AND returned ballots. If mailing by USPS, please allow enough time for the ballot to arrive in our office by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Registered Democrats in West Hartford also have the opportunity to participate in early voting for the primary, on Aug. 3 through Aug. 9. Early voting is held at the West Hartford Town Hall auditorium only, and hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, with extended hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 4 and Aug. 6.

On Tuesday, Aug. 11, those eligible to vote will do so at their regular polling place, with polls open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m.
