The picturesque wedding of Maura Conway and David Johnson took place at The Riverview, in Simsbury, CT.

Maura was honored to have her Nana Slack’s wedding band and her uncle, “Unc” Kevin Slack, officiate. He recounted how Maura played “hard to get” by moving increasingly farther away from David after graduating from Holy Cross and how he drove farther and farther to spend weekends with her – until finally Maura graduated from medical school, accepting a residency in Connecticut to be close to David.

The reception was a lovely, casually elegant evening. The bride and groom danced to “Everything,” the bride and her father danced to “It’s a Wonderful World,” and the groom and his mother danced to “Sweet Child of Mine.” The hit of the night was a candy “bar,” with every kind of candy imaginable.

Other highlights included: Stunning flowers by Moscarillos; wedding pictures taken in Elizabeth Park during Rose Weekend, and Max’s Oyster Bar catered the rehersal dinner.

Maura and David both attended Northwest Catholic High School and College of the Holy Cross but didn’t start dating until after David’s graduation. Maura went on to attend University of New England Medical School.

A December South Africa honeymoon was planned.
