This year, Voices of Hope and the Jewish Federation Association of Connecticut (JFACT) will observe Holocaust Remembrance Day on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, at 11:30 a.m., at The Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford.

The 6th Annual Greater Hartford International Holocaust Remembrance Day is held in commemoration of the January 1945 Liberation of Auschwitz.

The program includes a dairy brunch, musical selections by Hazzan Sanford Cohn and Hannah Berkowitz, presentation of the 2016 Chesed Award, and a keynote address by Agnes Vertes.

The Voices of Hope Chesed Award is bestowed on individuals who demonstrate exemplary “acts of loving kindness” that find expression in the mission of Voices of Hope – namely to educate and speak out against bigotry, hatred, intolerance, and indifference. The goal and deepest hope is that the world will never again experience genocide and man’s inhumanity to man.

This program is free to Holocaust Survivors and their families and is underwritten by friends of Voices of Hope.

As an invited guest, there is no cost to you or your family members. However, our work in schools, Universities and the community at large is not possible without your generosity. Please become a sponsor and lend your support so that we may open this event to more educators and students alike. Your sponsorship is gratefully appreciated and will be listed in the event program.

Please consider a tax deductible donation by clicking here on the Eventbrite donation link or remit to Voices of Hope, 40 Woodland St., Hartford, CT 06105.
