MIGHTY MITE/C Level

Beachland Tavern Jets 28, Bishop Photo Browns 6 – Sunday’s matchup between the Beachland Tavern Jets and the Bishop Phot Browns was a good old fashion game played in perfect football weather – rainy and cold. The Jets successfully held off the Browns 28-6 to keep their five-game winning streak alive. The Jets demonstrated great overall team effort on offense, defense and special teams. Every player contributed and pulled together as a team to pull out the victory. The offense controlled the clock with strong blocking and hard running. The Jets received sound blocking at the point of attack and down field. The backs hit the holes hard and scored on tough runs, rewarding the lineman for their efforts. The defense gang tackled well and proved to be very stingy. The secondary covered the Browns’ passing attack as the front six put solid pressure on the Browns’ quarterback, leading to two batted down balls and an interception. On special teams, the Jets’ kickoff and kickoff return played very well by protecting the ball and by everyone doing their job. The Jets (5-0) will move on to play the Fischman Orthodontics Cowboys (3-2), while the Bishop Photo Browns (2-4) have a bye next week.

Southington Lions 42, Fischman Orthodontics Cowboys 20 – The Southington Lions defeated the Fischman Orthodontics Browns 42-20 Saturday morning at Southington Recreation Park. The Southington Lions (4-1) will move on to play Farmington Black (1-4), while the Fischman Orthodontics Cowboys (3-2) will play the Beachland Tavern Jets (5-0).

Southington Dolphins 33, Farmington Black 6 – The Southington Dolphins leveraged a strong ground game and stingy defense on their way to a 33-6 victory over Farmington Black Sunday at Farmington High School. The Southington Dolphins (2-3) will move on to play the Watts Group Steelers (1-4), while Farmington Black (1-4) will play the Southington Lions (4-1).
