Ballet Theatre Company (BTC) is proud to announce “A Children’s Ballet,” an abbreviated performance of BTC’s main-stage performances open exclusively to children in Connecticut.
Through “A Children’s Ballet,” BTC offers schools the opportunity to take a field trip to the theater to experience a shortened version of classical ballets. Students who attend also interact with professional artists including dancers, lighting designers, scenic designers, and more. Meet and greets are available upon request.
On Friday, April 28, 2023 at 10 a.m., Connecticut students and teachers are invited to join BTC for an abbreviated performance of their 2023 spring production Cinderella at The Bushnell.
Cinderella, a beloved fairytale classic, features choreography by the company’s Artistic Director Stephanie Dattellas set to Prokofiev’s timeless score. The production first premiered in 2018 at the University of Saint Joseph’s Hoffman Auditorium to sold-out audiences.
The story of Cinderella follows a young girl whose father passes away, so she is left to grow up serving as a maid to her Stepmother and Stepsisters. With the help of her Fairy Godmother’s magic, Cinderella is able to escape her life of servitude for one beautiful evening. Though the magic runs out and she quickly flees with the stroke of midnight, that is not the end of Cinderella’s new adventures.
Join Cinderella on her thrilling journey to find out if her dreams can come true with a little bit of magic.
Teachers who are interested in attending BTC’s A Children’s Ballet: Cinderella should book directly with BTC online. Tickets are $10/student and must be reserved by March 31, 2023. For every 20 tickets purchased, one free ticket is granted.
