The Concorso Ferrari & Friends is one of the premier fundraisers for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, and while the car show itself is not in West Hartford, a prelude to the event is taking place in Blue Back Square.

On Saturday, June 24, from 6-9 p.m., “Cars & Cocktails” will take place at 91 Memorial Road – the former West Elm space.

“We’re super excited to be back in West Hartford,” said Dana Acabbo, who is serving as co-chair of Concorso Ferrari & Friends for the second year.

Acabbo said her son had open heart surgery at Connecticut Children’s when he was just five months old, and she has been actively involved in supporting Connecticut Children’s for the past six years.

The Saturday evening Cars & Cocktails party at Blue Back Square will honor Stanley Cohen, a local philanthropist and Ferrari collector. His grandson, Max Silverman, is also co-chair of the event.

The menu at the Saturday evening event will include samplings from Blue Back Square restaurants Gran Gusto, Kilwins, Rosa Mexicano, Vinted, The Place 2 Be, and more. A heart sculpture by Michael Ulman, creator of the Mad Max Fury Road Guitar, will be auctioned off with the proceeds going to Connecticut Children’s. Additional artwork will be on display and offered for sale as part of the fundraiser.

The cost to attend is $150 per person, and tickets can be purchased here.

There will be exotic supercars – including an Apollo – on display in West Hartford on Saturday evening in advance of their showcasing at Concorso Ferrari & Friends at the Farmington Police Grounds in Farmington on Sunday.

The automobile event at the Farmington Polo Club will be held on Sunday, June 25, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The cost to enter a car is $20, and the cost to attend is $10 per person, with proceeds going to Connecticut Children’s.
