If you find yourself needing some lightness and laughter at this time of year, you’re in luck on March 18! Playhouse on Park‘s next Comedy Night features co-headliners Stephanie Peters and John Perrotta. The first performance is set for 7 p.m. and due to the success of our previous comedy nights, you can catch a second show at 10 p.m.
Comedy diva Stephanie Peters grew up in Cambridge, MA, idolizing local funnyman Lenny Clarke and his buddies Jay Leno, Denis Leary and Steven Wright. In just one year, Stephanie skyrocketed from playing tiny clubs in Boston’s suburbs to strutting her own brand of bawdiness in Leary’s “Comics Come Home” benefit, where she shared the limelight with Clarke, Wright and Jay Mohr. Peters then won the Marshall’s Women in Comedy festival, which crowned her one of the top “new” female comics in the country. She’s performed at such venues as the Berklee Performance Center, the Orpheum, the Wang and the Providence Center for the Performing Arts.
When Comedian John Perrotta takes the stage, no one is safe! Known as “the Italian Don Rickles,” he has been performing stand-up since 1991 and is known for his rapid-fire delivery of one-liners and his ability to improv off any audience. John has headlined at many comedy clubs including the Comedy Connection, Catch A Rising Star, Joker’s Wild, Nick’s Comedy Stop, Dick Doherty’s Comedy Clubs, and more. John was voted Providence’s funniest comedian in 2008 and has worked with many top comedians including Bill Burr, Dane Cook and Colin Quinn.
