The Hebrew High School of New England invites everyone in the community to participate in its inaugural 5K Unity Color Run, scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. The Color Run is a fun, healthy way to join together to celebrate our community in all its colorful diversity. Individuals and groups of all different faiths and ethnicities are invited to participate as runners, walkers or volunteers on a 5K or 2.5K route.

“With so much going on around the world that divides us as people, we wanted to create an opportunity to celebrate what unites us,” said Karen Goldberg, chairperson for the event. “It’s a fun, exciting way to make an important statement and enjoy each other’s company, together as a community.”

Runners will be showered along the run with colored powder made of food-grade corn starch. Participants will begin wearing white t-shirts and at the finish lines will represent the colorful, vibrant nature of our diverse Greater Hartford community.

HHNE will also be collecting non-perishable food items to benefit Foodshare and the Anja Rosenberg Food Pantry, as well as toothpaste, soaps and shampoos to benefit local shelters.
