Comptroller Confirms Budget Surplus at $4.9 Billion

Comptroller Sean Scanlon on Thursday confirmed the Office of Policy and Management’s recent state budget report in his monthly financial and economic update, projecting that the state will end the fiscal year with a surplus of $4.9 billion.

Scanlon reported that for the end of Fiscal Year 2024, the General Fund will show a surplus of $329.3 million and the Special Transportation Fund has a surplus of $277.3 million, both of which are in general agreement with the Office of Policy and Management’s projections.
