Conard varsity field hockey defeated Northwest Catholic 2-1 in OT on Tuesday afternoon in West Hartford.

The teams battled back and forth all game, with Conard striking first. Junior Freja Morris deflected a shot off a direct shot from a corner play from senior Cat Zehr.

Northwest battled back, tying the game with a goal from Maya Beaudoin.

Heading into overtime, Conard was able to get the game winning goal from freshman Gigi Smith, off a Freja Morris feed.

Spencer Doyle had three saves in goal from Conard and Isabella Jubrey ended with three as well. Conard is now 7-2 on the season and Northwest Catholic is 6-1.

Conard will travel to Enfield next Tuesday, before retuning home for a Thursday evening contest with Avon.
