Snow began falling in West Hartford at approximately 2 p.m., and a quick 1.5 inches covered the roads.

As of 6 p.m., Department of Public Works Director John Phillips reported that all available trucks were out plowing and treating West Hartford’s roads, however, the heavy Saturday afternoon traffic slowed efforts to clear the streets.

Phillips said there will not be a parking ban during this storm.

“Our plan is to continue to maintain our roads until the precipitation changes over to all rain. Residents with evening plans should anticipate slippery conditions and drive carefully,” Phillips said.
