Models from the community showed off the latest fall fashions during a Thursday night event that also included food demonstrations.

A few drops of rain didn’t put a damper on the “Fashion Fusion” show on the West Hartford show mobile stage which spotlighted fall fashions from all over The Center. Participants included BK&Co., Daswani, Francesca’s, and Max Zeller Furs with a special celebration of Ten Thousand Villages for their 70th anniversary year. Accessories were courtesy of Lux Bond & Green and Central Optica.
The clouds broke in time for a pink sunset, and the evening was kicked off with a “crepe cook-off” lead by Alex Litor, owner of La Petite France Café. James and Samantha Hines from Cookshop Plus demonstrated smoothie-making with fresh fruit, and they also handed out samples of homemade peanut butter. Omaha Steaks, a seven-month resident of West Hartford Center, handed out pumpkin pie samples and information about their gourmet meat programs.
The volunteer models were treated to make-up and hair styling at BlueMercury, and two audience members won hair make-overs during the evening. The stage was well appointed with rugs as backdrops, courtesy of Kaoud.
Co-hosts Tom Hickey, publisher of West Hartford Magazine, and Barbara Karsky, owner of BK&Co., welcomed the models on the stage while music played, courtesy of T&T Sound. Enjoy the photos!
