Friends of Feeney will be handing out free t-shirts and looking for donations for the nonprofit organization on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Conard vs. Hall boys basketball game.

The game is the last regular season game between West Hartford’s crosstown rivals, and will be held at Conard beginning at 6:45 p.m.

Eric Feeney, founder of Friends of Feeney and a third grade teacher at Wolcott Elementary School, interviewed Conard star basketball player, Yale-bound Riley Fox, in Episode 93 of his “Feeney Talks with Friends” podcast. He’s named Tuesday’s fundraiser “Fox and Friends,” and that’s the message printed one the t-shirts, which were created by West Hartford’s Fresh Ink Promotional Graphics, with printing sponsored by Anthony’s Abatement and RBC Wealth Management.

“Riley Fox is such a good kid! He is athletic, smart, and respectful,” Feeney said. Fox scored 30 points in a Senior Night win vs. Platt on Friday, Feb. 16 – and is closing in on the 2,000-point milestone with just 42 points left to go. Conard has a game Saturday morning and Feeney is hopeful that Tuesday might be the day that Fox hits the milestone, which he believes might be the first time a West Hartford Public Schools basketball player has reached that mark.
