Girl Scouts to Honor West Hartford Resident with Statewide Award

West Hartford resident Jackie Mandyck will be honored at the Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s 22nd Annual Breakfast Badge.

On Friday, Dec. 7, Girl Scouts of Connecticut will honor West Hartford resident Jackie Mandyck, managing director of the iQuilt Partnership, at its annual Breakfast Badge event with a statewide recognition.

Jackie, along with two other honorees, are being recognized as “Women Who Innovate,” highlighting their successes in their careers and personal endeavors. Girl Scouts of Connecticut will also honor Kate Emery, founder of the Walker Group, a technology services firm, and founder of reSET and Cristina Guzman-Toro, senior engineer and president of the Hispanic Leadership Forum at Pratt & Whitney.

Jackie Mandyck the managing director of the iQuilt Partnership, an urban design plan for the city of Hartford. Jackie works to link Hartford’s cultural and physical assets to make the city more walkable, engaging, and vibrant. Jackie also serves on the board of the Connecticut Women’s Council, and the Betty Knox Foundation. She formerly served on Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s Board of Directors.

“I am thrilled to be honored by the Girl Scouts: an organization that emphasizes courage, confidence, and character every day and empowers girls and women to change the world,” said Mandyck. “I am proud to be a Girl Scout alum and excited to be one of the honorees at this year’s Breakfast Badge.”

At the event, guests are invited to a silent auction and welcome reception with breakfast and program to follow. This year’s emcee is Tara N. Spain, vice president, Travelers Foundation and second vice president, Travelers, community relations. Guests will also hear from local Girl Scouts who will share their community service projects and other successes.
