Hall Boys Soccer Heading to Second Round of CIAC Tournament

West Hartford’s Hall High School won its first round game Monday night.

The No. 2 seed Hall boys soccer team shut out No. 31 seed Ridgefield Monday night, and will host Simsbury in second round Class LL action Wednesday at 2 p.m. in West Hartford.
Sam Sandler knocked in a goal for Hall in the first half, while UConn-bound All American Lucas Almeida scored in the second half.

Hall finished the regular season with a record of 14-0-2, and on Nov. 4 defeated Middletown, 2-1, for the CCC championship.
Simsbury, a No. 15 seed with a current record of 10-5-2, defeated No. 18 Fairfield Ludlowe 1-0 on Monday to reach the next round.
Conard High School, which entered the tournament as a No. 22 seed (6-5-5) lost to Darien on Monday, 3-0.
