East Hartford (3-6) scored once in the second and once in the fourth quarter for a 16-7 win that knocks the Titans to 2-7 on the season.
Neither team did much in the first quarter, but Tyler Redden took it in from 1 yard out with 1:46 left in the first half for the 7-0 Hall lead. But it took the Hornets just one play and 16 seconds to take the game lead when quarterback Dravyn Roberts found Dallas West open on a scramble play, and West raced in for what would be a 67-yard score. The 2-point conversion made it 8-7.
The score remained unchanged until the fourth quarter, when East Hartford held the ball for 9:25, slowly moving it down field until Roberts ran the ball in on a sweep. After the 2-point conversion it was 16-7. The Titans could not put together a meaningful drive and time ran out.
The Titans will play their final game of the season when they travel to meet crosstown rival West Hartford on Saturday, Nov. 23. That game, the annual Mayor’s Cup contest, begins at 1 p.m.
