Host Homes Urgently Needed by Playhouse on Park

West Hartford’s Playhouse on Park is desperately in need of housing for several of their actors, beginning May 13.

For 15 Season, Playhouse on Park has relied heavily on the generosity of many people / businesses in the community to house out-of-town actors, directors and designers. This generosity has comes in the form of apartments that have been donated by several independent living facilities and landlords with vacant furnished apartments as well as residents who open their home and “host” and actor.
Last week, the theatre company learned that it was unexpectedly losing four apartments, just a few days before the latest cast arrived. Two have been placed in host homes, and two were placed into temporary host homes but need to be relocated immediately May 13 through June 17. If you are able to help or want to learn more about what is required by a host/apartment donor, please contact Playhouse Theatre Group, Inc. Executive Director Tracy Flater at tflater@playhousetheatregroup.
If you cannot help with this urgent immediate need, but would like to consider helping in the future, please do reach out. We will add you to the list, share our needs and you can pick & choose what works for you. Some hosts host once per year; some constantly.
Apartments can be one time donations; or recurring. Host homes and apartments are needed year-round. Right now, we are currently seeking homes for the cast of Toni Stone, up next The Prom. Actors are housed anywhere from 6-10 weeks (depending on he show); directors for three weeks; designers for 10 days.
Hosts do not have to drive or feed their guests. We can connect you with past hosts to learn more. This can be an incredibly beneficial experience for all. Please do reach out to learn more.
