Submitted by Jewish Family Services
We welcome Kimberly Whittingham who is joining the staff of professional therapists at Jewish Family Services of Greater Hartford. Kim works primarily with children, adolescents, and their families.
Kim is a seasoned clinician with expertise working with a diverse population. She has worked with a residential facility for adolescent females and with Community Health Resources.
While studying psychology in college, Kim found it exciting and realized it was her calling. “We have an ability to reach people at this level where we can do so much good,” she explained. One of her strengths is that of bringing a bit of humor into the session at the appropriate time. “The client is doing the work and perhaps not realizing they’re doing the work because the atmosphere is a little lighter.” Kim takes a non-judgmental approach so clients feel they are a person rather than a patient.
Kim will see clients Tuesday through Friday and Thursday evenings until 8:30 p.m. at JFS at 333 Bloomfield Ave. in West Hartford. She is also willing to see clients during morning hours before the parents’ workday.
As professionals, all our JFS clinicians work to customize sessions to fit the client’s specific needs and personality. We utilize a variety of treatment approaches and can help clients address a wide range of issues. Visit www.jfshartford.org to see a list of all our clinicians and their areas of expertise.
