Judicial Branch Warns of Text and Phone Scams Claiming Legal Violations

One scam references traffic citations and the second scam falsely claims that the recipient has failed to appear for jury service and must now pay a penalty.
The Connecticut Judicial Branch is warning residents of two separate scams targeting residents.
The first scam falsely claims that the recipient of a text has received a traffic citation and that the recipient has failed to pay a fine.
In some instances, the name of a Connecticut state court judge is utilized.
