Udolf Properties has announced the acquisition of 1240 Farmington Avenue – the building that is anchored by CVS and also home to Kitchen Plate – further expanding their footprint in Sunset Triangle.
Udolf Properties – a West Hartford-based privately-held commercial real estate owner and operator for nearly 60 years – completed the $2.8 million acquisition off-market, said company owner Robert Udolf. The deed was filed on Monday, April 13, 2026, according to town records.
“We are excited about this acquisition,” Udolf said.
Udolf said that building at 1240 Farmington Avenue “is exactly the kind of asset we seek: a fantastic location and quality tenancy in the heart of a community we believe in. We are excited to expand our footprint here and look forward to continuing to invest in West Hartford.” Only minor cosmetic updates are planned at this time, he said.
The previous owner, Stonemeadow Realty LLC, had owned the roughly 26,000 square foot property since 1992. It was built in 1963, town records indicate.

Udolf is now the owner of four commercial properties in the Sunset Triangle area of West Hartford, which he noted is a “well-established retail destination at the heart of the West Hartford community.” The 1240 Farmington Avenue property was a desirable acquisition because it is highly-visible, and has convenient access and ample on-site parking.

Udolf Properties was already owner of the building right next door at 1234 Farmington Avenue, as well as the building that houses Stop & Shop at 1235 Farmington Avenue and the building at 1245-49 Farmington Avenue – the corner of the triangle – where Valvoline, Pak Mail, and an additional mix of office and retail tenants are located.
The company remains focused on a portfolio of “well-located commercial and multi-family real estate in the Central Connecticut market,” and cultivating their relationships with local and national tenants, Udolf said.
