Dear West Hartford Residents,

I would like to urge your support for the candidacy of Mary Fay for Town Council. I have known Mary for a number of years, and encouraged her to run for office as I have been impressed with her financial expertise, engagement with our community, and passion for the issues confronting West Hartford. Being in the financial industry myself, I realize how important it is to have someone with her background serving on the Town Council as we confront unprecedented challenges created by the State fiscal crisis and the Town’s unfunded pension and health care liabilities.

Mary has held several senior business leadership roles, including Senior Vice President and General Manager of Sun Life Financial, where she also chaired diversity and inclusion employee resource groups and served on Sun Life boards. She has served in senior executive roles at GE Capital, ING, and other financial Institutions. She is a graduate of Skidmore College, with an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Local politics should transcend political partisanship, and regardless if you are Democrat, Independent or Republican, I think we can all agree that we need elected officials with Mary’s commitment to the community, dedication to its residents and valuable financial skills. More importantly, we need people who are willing to work hard in this volunteer role. I believe that Mary Fay would be an excellent addition to the Council.

Sincerely,

Denise B. Hall
Minority Leader
West Hartford Town Council
