Dear Editor,

I first met Adrienne during the pandemic when I expressed concern over WHPS’s lack of faculty of color and overall representation in our community (among other areas that need work in our community) after many of us were horrified by George Floyd’s death in 2020. The tragic news triggered many of us who have had first hand traumatic encounters with racism and were grasping with the realities of how we would go about making a better world and future for our children of color.

In this short time, I have witnessed a leader emerge and work tirelessly with integrity out of her own compassion for people and love for West Hartford. She is understanding, listens and any concerns you may have will become her concerns too. As someone who personally felt uncomfortable speaking up, I can assure you that Adrienne is reliably there to be your voice. If you feel unheard, she is there to amplify it. She really sees the needs and has consideration for others.

Her dedication to the community of West Hartford is appreciated through her service on the Human Rights Commission, Civilian Police Review Board, co-president of the Aiken School PTO, and founder and president of Concerned Parents of Color of West Hartford (CPCWH). Also to note is her partnership with WHPS to continue to build and support equity and diversity in our schools. In addition, it is through her contributions and collaborations that we have Unity Green, a Juneteenth celebration, backpack drives, coat drives, mental health spaces, and more. West Hartford is truly a more welcoming place for all with Adrienne’s efforts.

It is with that empathy, flexibility and activism as a leader that I feel confident she will make a positive impact in West Hartford as a town council member.

Sincerely,

Eileen Ng-Frumkin
West Hartford
