The Mandell JCC invites the community to a special evening, LIVE on Zoom, Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022 at 7 p.m. with Author Monique Faison Ross, who recently sold the TV rights to her book, “Playing Dead: A Memoir of Terror and Survival,” as she shares her stunning story of resilience, bravery and grit!

Moderated by Mary Jane Foster, CEO and President of Interval House, Monique recounts her marriage to her high school sweetheart that turned horrifically abusive.

When Monique gathered the courage to leave with her children, her husband escalated to threats and stalking, ignoring court injunctions and arrests, and finally culminating in a nightmarish car ride that involved car crashes and rape. He mercilessly beat her on the head with a shovel and abandoned her brutalized body in the woods in the rain, believing she was dead.

Faison Ross not only survived, but also moved forward on a path to recovery and helping others with her story.

The event is free and open to the community. To register: www.mandelljcc.org/tix.
