Bridget Oei, the newly-crowned Miss Connecticut, will visit West Hartford’s Ooh La La Boutique on July 12 from 5-8 p.m. to sign autographs and raise funds for her community platform, the Children’s Miracle Network.

Darlene Salonia, owner of Ooh La La Boutique, has been a sponsor for Oei as she became Miss Mountain Laurel and now Miss Connecticut. Oei, a Hebron native who graduated from UConn with honors in 2018, with a degree in environmental science and plans to attend medical school, will represent the state in this year’s Miss America pageant.

Ten percent of all purchases during the event will be donated to Oei’s fundraising on behalf of Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, the local Children’s Miracle Network hospital which relies on donations to fully cover the cost of care for patients.

During the event, there will also be the opportunity to win four $50 gift cards to Ooh La La as well as $750 of cool sculpting generously donated by the Medspa at the Delamar plus several $100 gift certificates.

“Ooh La La Boutique is thrilled and honored to help Bridget raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network,” Salonia said. “More than 10 million kids enter a hospital like CCMC across North America every year. Those hospitals rely on donations and community support because Medicaid and insurance don’t fully cover the costs of care. CMN helps fill the funding gaps, through fundraising efforts and programs, and with the help of partners who support CMN’s mission of saving and improving the lives of as many children as possible. CMN has raised $5.7 billion since 1983. We hope to continue to support this effort for children in need.”

Ooh La La Boutique, located at 80 Memorial Rd. in Blue Back Square, regularly hosts “Shop for a Cause” events and features women’s clothing in a style that she refers to as “the playful side of sophistication.”
