Looking for a fun way to get your holiday shopping done that doesn’t involve staring at a computer? You will support small, local businesses this holiday season when you shop at the Holiday Market at the Noah Webster House!

On Friday, Dec. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., you will have the chance to explore and purchase unique, handcrafted, artisanal, and even some tasty creations from local vendors at the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society, 227 South Main St., West Hartford.

The Noah Webster House is offering this holiday tradition as a way to support local, small businesses, many of them newer and without their own bricks and mortar location. The businesses have an opportunity to showcase their products and sell directly to customers and are returning the favor by donating a portion of their proceeds to the museum. The Holiday Market at the Noah Webster House is made possible through the generosity of sponsor Mangs Financial LLC.

The Holiday Market at the Noah Webster House is an indoor/outdoor event. No registration is required but the museum suggests a $5 donation to enter to support museum educational initiatives.

Over 20 local vendors will be selling their wares at the Holiday Market. The Farmington Farm Truck will have wreaths and Connecticut farm made honey, jams, pickles, and hot sauces; and Charlie’s Traveling Treat Truck will have special items for the dogs in your life. ASC Gardens will offer a variety of boxwood trees, and WeHa Candle Co. is offering all natural candles and fragrance products inspired by locations throughout town. The Cottage Potter makes one-of-a-kind pottery pieces that are both functional and decorative. Many other local artists will be set up selling a variety of items including delicious chocolate bombs, ornaments, note cards, aprons, pressed flower artwork, and so much more.

Those looking to treat their taste buds will have many options. WeHa Brewing & Roasting Company will be offering freshly roasted craft coffee and providing samples of both coffee and beer. On Friday night only, WeHa Brewing & Roasting will collaborate with Bellis Bourbon, offering a sample of a specialty drink incorporating the rich flavors of both coffee and bourbon.

Friday evening will be a “Sip and Shop” event so bring your friends and enjoy a drink while you look at all of the available items. The Noah Webster House will be selling a selection of beer, wine, and hot drinks.
