Northwest Catholic High School announced the hiring of Allison Owsianko as new school counselor.

Owsianko joins Northwest Catholic High School’s Department of School Counseling along with the role of Link Crew advisor. She arrives from the faculty of St. Paul High School in Bristol where she worked as a school counselor.

“She comes very highly recommended, which is evident in the zeal she approached joining the team here at Northwest Catholic. She jumped in headfirst, and immediately got right to work. Allison even volunteered to take over our student-to-student mentorship program, which is very near and dear to my heart. I have 100% confidence in her as a counselor and am looking forward to working with her for years to come!” Principal Chris Stuck said.

Owsianko spent the summer busy planning for the start of school, student orientation, and connecting with Link Crew students. “I am most looking forward to making connections with students, families, and colleagues within the Northwest Catholic community!” Owsianko said.

Owsianko attended the University of Saint Joseph where she earned her Bachelors’s Degree in Child Study and Master’s Degree in School Counseling. Along with her academic accomplishments, Owsianko runs a nonprofit organization called “Holden it Together,” in memory of her late uncle who passed away seven years ago from a brain tumor. Annually the organization holds a fundraising dinner that raises between $8,000-$10,000. Contributions go towards Holden it Together’s scholarship fund for students who have been directly impacted or know someone very close to them who have had a brain tumor or cancer. The remaining proceeds go to the CT Brain Tumor Alliance, a foundation that helps individuals and families who provide support to those who have a brain tumor or cancer.

Northwest Catholic is honored to have Allison Owsianko a part of the team!
