Northwest Catholic Student Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

Two Northwest Catholic student athletes signed Letters of Intent on Tuesday, one for Division I soccer and another for Divison II baseball.

Northwest Catholic soccer player and senior Madison Borowiec formalized her commitment to compete in Division I college soccer at the Quinnipiac University on April 28, 2015, during a special ceremony at Northwest Catholic.

At the same ceremony, Northwest senior Hunter Tralli signed a letter of intent to compete in Division II college baseball at Assumption College.

The daughter of Christopher and Jeannine Borowiec of Windsor, Maddie has been a member of the Varsity Girls’ Soccer team since her freshman year. She was a member of both the 2011 and 2012 State Championship-winning Girls’ Soccer teams, and has played 76 Northwest Catholic soccer games, starting in 74 of them. Maddie was named All-Academic all four years of high school, and All-Conference in her junior and senior seasons. During her senior year, she was also named All-State, served as a team captain and was named the team’s MVP. She has scored 36 goals for the team, and netted 37 assists.

In addition to soccer, Maddie has been a member of the Girls’ Basketball program for three years, serving as team captain her senior year and earning Coaches Award honors as a junior.

The son of Christopher and Kellie Tralli of Kensington, Hunter has been a member of the baseball team since his freshman year. Hunter was named All-Academic his sophomore and junior years and All-Conference in his junior year, including being named captain his senior year. In 52 games, Hunter has a career batting average of .311 with 2 home runs, 31 RBI, 31 runs scored, and 9 doubles through his three years on varsity (stats including this year).

In addition to baseball, Hunter played basketball during his freshman and sophomore years.
