West Hartford Leisure Services is once again offering Yoga in the Parks through a collaboration with West Hartford Yoga.

Free outdoor yoga has been a popular summer activity in West Hartford for many years, and the collaboration between West Hartford Yoga and the town’s Department of Leisure Services has returned for 2022.
“Join our WHY instructors at Eisenhower Park, Beachland Park, and Wolcott Park while you connect with nature, improve your health, increase your energy, and relax among fellow yogis,” states an email from West Hartford Yoga.
The all-levels classes include yoga postures, breath work, and meditation – and provide the opportunity for participants to connect with nature and relax and regroup in a beautiful setting.
Classes began in late June, and are held at Beachland, Eisenhower, and Wolcott parks.
The hour-long classes are open to people of all levels and led by certified instructors from WHY. The Thursday sessions, which are 30 minutes, are specifically oriented for families and children.
Participants should bring a yoga mat, towel, and water.
The schedule of classes and instructors is as follows:
- Sunday, 9 a.m. at Beachland Park, with Rachel Green or Katie Redman
- Wednesday, 5:30 p.m. at Eisenhower Park with Brittney Seltzer
- Thursday, 10 a.m. at Wolcott Park with Becca Barnard
Although free to attend, participants are asked to pre-register for the class so that instructors know how many people to expect, and registration (click here) opens 14 days before the class date.
Classes are free of charge, but donations will be accepted.
