The Bishops Corner Neighborhood Association (BCNA) is excited to announce a fall evening meeting titled “Highlights & Happy Hour.”

The discussion will focus on how to improve non-motorized transportation in Bishops Corner. The North Main Street/Albany Avenue intersection and the North Main Street “Road Diet” will be highlighted.

Additionally, an update will be given regarding the two apartment developments in Bishops Corner (Albany Avenue and Steele Road). Light fare will be provided by local merchants and Maximum Beverage will sponsor a wine tasting.

“The BCNA’s evening meeting is an important gathering for residents and businesses to attend. State and local leaders will be on hand to discuss local traffic concerns associated with the North Main Street/Albany Ave intersection and how to make the general area more pedestrian and bike friendly. There will also be an update on the ‘road diet’ that has been discussed for North Main Street between West Hartford Center and Bishops Corner. This is a pivotal time for Bishops Corner. Residents and businesses are encouraged to attend,” said resident and BCNA President Bob Fressola.

West Hartford Mayor Scott Slifka, State Sen.Beth Bye, State Reps. Brian Becker and Joe Verrengia, and representatives from the Town of West Hartford and the State Department of Transportation will also be in attendance.

Following opening remarks, BCNA Committee Chairs will briefly present the goals of their committees, recent accomplishments and ways for individuals to become involved. Current BCNA committees include Arts @ Bishops Corner, Farmers’ Market @ Bishops Corner, Pedestrian/Bicycle Safety and Marketing Committees.

“Now is the time for us to work together to make Bishop’s Corner a more pedestrian-friendly neighborhood. The town and state understand the safety concerns and I believe this is the time to make it happen,” said Bishops Corner business owner and resident Jason Congdon.

“Highlights & Happy Hour” will be held on Nov. 5, from 6-8 p.m. at the Bishops Corner Senior Center. For more information please visit the BCNA’s website www.BishopsCorner.org or call 860-206- 6975.
