The second annual taste of Bishops Corner has gained more participants and support since it had to be postponed from the original March date due to lingering nasty and cold weather. The event will take place well past the chilly season, on a [beautiful] spring night: May 17, 2017, on the outdoor patio next to Blue Plate Kitchen and Maximum Beverage in Bishops Corner (333 North Main St., West Hartford).
Adult tickets are $25 in advance, while kids can get in for $12. Take the night off from cooking dinner, come out and enjoy an evening out with friends and neighbors. The event will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
There is plenty of parking in the rear, near the former Walmart location, and attendees can take the stairs or elevator directly up to the event.
Participants include:
[Updated May 9]: We are pleased to welcome Moe’s Southwest Grill to the event. There will be music, free chair massages courtesy of Massage Envy, Orangetheory giveaways, gift baskets from Pet Valu and European Wax Center, and other amazing teacup and raffle items. Organizers are working on a special gluten free surprise. Watch this post and Facebook event page.
Musical entertainment provided by West Hartford’s “Fresh, young rock band,” the 5-member Gravitonik.
Harry’s Bishops Corner and Abby Dabby are on board (again) for the second annual Taste of Bishops Corner (TOBC). Panera Bread will join us and a special thanks to Maximum Beverage for participating. Crown Market Café will feature baked goods and Blue Plate Kitchen is coming back (they had an amazing salad last year, see above). Pond House will feature ZEST280. KOMA Japanese Steakhouse – contemporary outpost offering lively hibachi meals – will provide sushi rolls and other Japanese staples.
Massage Envy has confirmed that they will demo specialty services like cranial sacral therapy, reflexology and advanced skincare; as well as offer free chair massages. The local merchants will also offer “festival-like” activities, so watch for updates.
Non-profit beneficiaries include Hall High Jazz Band, Mandell JCC of Greater Hartford, and Bishops Corner Neighborhood Association.
Check out the video of last year’s TOBC by David Chmielewski of DirectLine Media Productions and you’ll see the delicious pizza served by Harry’s and an amazing brownie sundae by Abby Dabby … YUM! Can’t wait to taste what they bring this year!
