The Seniors Job Bank (SJB) of West Hartford, which provides a free referral service that connects people over the age of 50 who are seeking part-time work, either with individuals or businesses in need of help, has recently added Sheila Diamond as its new executive director.
Diamond’s experience working in the non-profit arena and with volunteers in the Hartford community, accompanied by her ability to develop effective fundraising strategy, make her a rare “diamond” indeed.
She has been a member of the Board of Trustees at Beth El Temple since 2010 and is currently a member of the Executive Board as well. Diamond was also president of the Beth El Temple’s women’s group from 2009– 2011.
Before moving to Connecticut, Diamond worked for the New York Chamber of Commerce and the New York City Partnership as the manager of Human Resources. In addition, she was a recruiter for a corporate recruiting agency for several years.
Diamond is very excited about joining the Seniors Job Bank, and believes that it will give her the opportunity to contribute significantly to the lives of seniors by helping them find employment. She hopes to expand the work of the Seniors Job Bank and increase the organization’s visibility in the Greater Hartford community.
“I’m amazed at the variety of skills the service providers have to offer. If you need help with your home or business, we have a service provider who has the skills to help you” explained Diamond. The Seniors Job Bank is ready and equipped to meet the service needs of its community and the employment needs of its seniors.
