Spring came alive Thursday evening on the West Hartford showmobile stage in the Center on Thursday evening as “live mannequins” showed off the latest trends, with clothing provided by BK&Co., Lyn Evans, Lucy, and a special segment highlighting “fit fashions” courtey of Fleet Feet Sports.
A cluster of real mannequins – on loan from Kimberly Boutique – added even more colors and patterns to the show.
The fit fashion portion of the show put the clothing to the test as Work In Progress (WIP) Fitness Group and Pilates Defined demonstrated, and even garnered some audience participation.
“Prints of all kinds, especially floral, are THE thing for Spring,” said fashion show emcee Barbara Karsky of BK&Co. “You’ll see patterns on tunics, jackets and even on skinny pants. And yes, skinny pants are still in – in a big way – this season. Black and white is still on trend, but if you want to replace that little black dress in your closet, you’ll see more little BLUE dresses this year.”
Linda Goldberg of Toy Dog Accessories at the Beadoir made sure some four-legged friends had a chance to model the latest fashions as well. Tiara modeled a multi-layered outfit which included a raincoat, sweater and sweet little denim dress.
Also featured in the show were Dressed to the Nines Custom Clothier and Kaoud Oriental Rugs which provided stage styling.
