St. James’s Choir to Perform Annual Christmas Concert in West Hartford

The St. James’s Choir and Choristers, accompanied by acclaimed organist and pianist Alan Murchie and a host of other musicians, will perform its annual Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 17, at 4 PM at the historic St. James’s Episcopal Church in West Hartford.

This concert is an extraordinary opportunity to experience the beautiful and moving music of the season, performed by some of the finest musicians in the region, in the 180-year-old St. James’s stunning acoustics.

The program will feature works by Mendelssohn, R. Vaughan Williams, Rutter, Stopford and Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto #4 (Alan Murchie and Thomas Tarutin, pianos). Other featured musicians include Lindsay Fawber, soprano, Brian Joy, tenor, and John Kramer, violin.

The St. James’s Choir is a highly accomplished ensemble of singers from throughout the Greater Hartford area. The choir is under the direction of the Rev. Murchie, associate for education and music at St. James’s.

Tickets for the concert are $10 and can be purchased at St. James’s Church ahead of time or at the door.
